Position Overview
The P/T Job Developer of the BTHP develops and maintains a resource bank of potential employers and transitional employers/service providers to assist BTHP consumers in obtaining gainful employment. The Job Developer reports to Director of Centralized Vocational Services or his designee, and the BTHP Program Manager.
Key Essentials Functions
- Assist clients in locating stable employment.
- Conduct labor market analyses to identify employment areas best suited for BTHP clients.
- Act as a liaison with Palladia's vocational/educational staff concerning employment opportunities.
- Create a neighborhood labor market outreach employment strategy.
- Develop relationships with employers.
- Develop a Job Bank.
- Schedule field time and follow-up with previously contacted employers.
- Keep Case Managers abreast of clients' level of participation in work related activities.
- Provide feedback to participants on identified labor market opportunities.
- Facilitate the appropriate referral based on assessment.
- Participate in case conferences, team meetings, appropriate trainings.
Additional functions may include:
- Participate in central vocational meetings/events.
- Work closely with and participate in Centralized Vocational Services department activities.
- Submit monthly reports.
- Perform other tasks as directed by the Director of HIV Services and Health Information.
Educational / Training Required
- A bachelor's degree in human services or related degree and at least three years experience working with homeless or at-risk populations.
- A minimum of two years of vocational counseling experience and/or two years of job development experience.
- Experienced with the substance abuse population.
Experience Required / Language Preference
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred.
Computer Skills Required
- Familiar with common computer applications
